light the way...

I don't remember what spurred my recent obsession with chinese lanterns (the flower) but regardless, I just came-to after blacking out on flickr for a while and here's what I've dug up... enjoy!

Each flower seems so delicate and intricate and I love the idea of such a fragile cage holding something so precious and beautiful inside. This can be translated to so many aspects of life..

fleurs...

Oscar and I went down to the water for lunch today and after chasing watching the seagulls, we went for a nice little walk over to the farmer's market by South Station. Picked up a pumpkin and some lilies for the studio, can't wait for them to bloom :)

it's electric...

Hi all!

Glad to be guest-blogging while Jess is in Paradise (and quite jealous!)

Came across these absolutely stunning images (photograms to be exact) by Robert Bueltman
on Today and Tomorrow

Read on the site about how the images are produced - amazing! Apparently it can take up to 150 attempts to get one single image right. Kudos!!

I picked up a few gloriosa stems at twig the other day and they looked so pretty, I just had to share... I think these may be one of my new favorite flowers :)

a peonie surprise...

When we moved into our apartment in February, the front garden was nothing more than snow and trash. Once it melted, I went in and weeded out the dead leaves and garbage and low and behold, a bunch of tulips sprouted, making for a welcome site in April.

Once the tulips passed their prime, another bush started getting taller and taller and, well, pretty much took over... cut to my most favorite surprise this spring, my peonies:

Yes, they are RIGHT outside our bedroom window and I couldn't be happier! Many thanks to whoever planted them a few seasons back :)

summer...

Thanks to my lovely friend, Erica, for sending me her pictures of daucus carota (queen anne's lace) from her vacation this summer... oooh I already miss the beach!

PS - If you ever happen to snap a great pic of these flowers, send them along - I'm designing a tattoo of them so I'm always on the lookout for inspiration AND I'll also showcase them on here of course :)
