on hold...

Some of you may already know that I'm in the process of re-designing my portfolio site... what you may not know is that this little blog here is getting a hefty makeover too!! (yay!)

So, in lieu of said makeover, I'm putting this baby on hold for a few. Don't hate me - you'll (hopefully) be pleasantly surprised when we're done.

In the meantime, check out some of the archives - there's a lot of beautiful things buried in those older posts! Also, check the right side of this page for a long list of blogs I adore, and that you probably will too :)

Until then, all my love, I'll be missing you!

happy...

Just taking an email/blog break from painting the bedroom a nice creamy white (half of it has been dark green and half primer since march). Getting this done is a major accomplishment and brings me one step closer to the all-white-bedroom of my dreams.

Had a yummy Italian dinner with some good friends last night AND scored some Lady GaGa tickets for December today!!!

Gotta say, so far it's been a good weekend :)

I've been thinking of switching to some new frames and am wondering if I can pull these off...

Ok, you need to check out Iain Crawford's portfolio... I'm beyond blown away. His work is simply gorgeous. So much movement and the textures are just incredible.

missing something...

Um... what happened to Fall this year? Did it decide to skip its duties? I feel like it went from Summer to winter in the course of a week?!

This is seriously my last winter in Boston. It's been almost ten years of this craziness and I am d-o-n-e.

i'm ready...

To move in, that is. This living room is calling my name. The chaise, the stairs, the brick-work...

For more interior-porn, check out Angus McRitchie's portfolio. I found his work through one of my favorite blogs, Desire to Inspire.

light the way...

I don't remember what spurred my recent obsession with chinese lanterns (the flower) but regardless, I just came-to after blacking out on flickr for a while and here's what I've dug up... enjoy!

Each flower seems so delicate and intricate and I love the idea of such a fragile cage holding something so precious and beautiful inside. This can be translated to so many aspects of life..

they're all unique...

I love the first snow of the season.
Luckily it happened in Vermont today and not Boston :)

opposite day...

You know those days when you want nothing less than the complete opposite of what you have?
Today is one of those days...

What I would give to experience this look for a bit.

via but what ever will the neighbors think

I never thought I'd hear myself say this but... I think I have enough shoes.

There are as many shoe boxes stuffed into my small closet as it will allow, a stack outside of my closet, a pile in our mudroom, and a few stacks in our storage space, above Dave's closet, in the living room (yes, his closet is in the living room)... ok ok, some may say that's not enough but rather too many.

But alas, I always want more.

optical...

I was stopped in my tracks by this shadow on my walk to work today as the direction of the sun caused the chain-linked-fence's shadow to look like my favorite scallop pattern.
