on hold...

Some of you may already know that I'm in the process of re-designing my portfolio site... what you may not know is that this little blog here is getting a hefty makeover too!! (yay!)

So, in lieu of said makeover, I'm putting this baby on hold for a few. Don't hate me - you'll (hopefully) be pleasantly surprised when we're done.

In the meantime, check out some of the archives - there's a lot of beautiful things buried in those older posts! Also, check the right side of this page for a long list of blogs I adore, and that you probably will too :)

Until then, all my love, I'll be missing you!

geek love...

The web-designing geek in me NEEDS this shirt.
Although, in all honesty, I'd probably just end up sleeping in it.
Maybe a framed print of the phrase would be better?
I smell a project...

available for pre-order here.

monarchy...

Something about this dress reminds me of a monarch butterfly - maybe the colors combined with the movement? Anyways, it's beautiful. Love the black taffeta underneath :)

transformation...

To be honest, I've never been one to dive head-first into Halloween. But this year, my friend Hil suggested I be a peacock and the idea of mixing my favorite blues and playing with crazy makeup got my mind going and BAM... I became a peacock! (with a bunch of help from the talented miss Jeannie Vincent that is!)

after:

jeannie's slew of supplies:

the whole outfit:

electric blue dress by cynthia vincent
gold pumps by steve madden
black sequin belt by h+m (hold up the tail)
felt tail, choker, and plume headband by yours truly (approx $13)

super sidenote:

ALL of that makeup and glitter came off in one wash with Soy Face Cleanser by Fresh.
I love this product so much that I stocked up on 6+ bottles before I quit Fresh!

quick news...

Last Friday, one of my fav bloggers, Erin, of Elements of Style, came by for a visit with her adorable pup, Oliver. Check out her lovely recap post here. To be honest, I am blushing ear to ear being featured on her blog today, it's like when your favorite band gives you a shout-out mid-set :)

Also, we are throwing a big studio opening party on November 12th!!! There will be drinks and snacks, music and dancing... RSVP here.

And lastly, are you our fan on facebook yet? If not, what are you waiting for??

putting it in perspective...

What a creative way to explain bit sizes! Certainly helps me wrap my head around the size of my 2-terabyte hard drive! The packaging design is great, love the matryoshkus concept :)

We Dream in Color's gorgeous new collection is filled with pieces fit for a Roman Goddess.. I just wish I saw them earlier so that I could have planned a costume around them - although truthfully, I would totally rock these on a daily basis!

Nyah Earrings $34

Agnes Bracelet $43

Gilded Lace Necklace $34

happy...

Just taking an email/blog break from painting the bedroom a nice creamy white (half of it has been dark green and half primer since march). Getting this done is a major accomplishment and brings me one step closer to the all-white-bedroom of my dreams.

Had a yummy Italian dinner with some good friends last night AND scored some Lady GaGa tickets for December today!!!

Gotta say, so far it's been a good weekend :)

I've been thinking of switching to some new frames and am wondering if I can pull these off...

eternal child a/w 09...

I'm once again digging the Istanbul-based line, Eternal Child. Their knit pieces seem to have just the right amount of a funky edge - not too over the top but also far from boring (if that makes sense? still need coffee...).

lucca here...

One of my favorite, under-the-radar bag companies, Elliott Lucca, are having a massive sale right now with lots of great bags at up to 60% off!

In case you're unfamiliar with Elliott Lucca, they're the sophisticated older sister to The Sak and our very own miss Victoria works in their design department down in NYC :)

I recently picked up these two lovelies as I'm totally digging the little-purse-slash-crossbody situation lately...

So stop reading this post and get to shopping already! Geesh...
