look up...

"Offered the opportunity to join in a print run of 250 business cards through university, I decided to screenprint my own and instead use the chance to spread a little happiness. Somebody who suffers from depression once told me that their therapist advised them to count chimneys if they were feeling down, as this increases the light intake through their eyes. I popped this hint on a card for distribution in low level places around Bristol."
-- Alex Ostrowski

Great concept. What a wonderful way to spread a little happiness...

An elephant never forgets his key...
This was selling on ebay but is long gone now. While I wouldn't know what to do with it, it sure is kitchy and cute...

hey, no cutting...

The always-perfectly-accessorized, Alyssa forwarded these (fitting) editorials by amazing paper artist, Jo Lynn Alcorn... oh to have the patience to create such intricate work!

(I highly recommend clicking on each to see the full size - the detail is incredible!)

Alyssa also gets a bonus gold star since there are elephants in both ;)

oh hello...

I'm back (kinda) after a seriously intense week! So many things are happening it's hard to keep track of, let alone find time to squeeze in a post or two... On the plus, I've been pumping out sites like a mad-woman and getting my buns organized.

That said, the most important question of the day is what kind of coffee to indulge in...

luckily Camilla answered for me with a little bit of steamed heaven. gracias.

If only we had more than 700 sq feet to our name... sigh.
This table rocks my boat allll over the place.

Spotted over on
Urban LifeStyle Decore. There are way more notables on the original post but I just had to give this guy the spotlight.

Dedicated to Keyse and Vic. You both know why.

OK OK So I get that I'm on a bit of a cheerful-streak and I apologize to all the downers in the audience but hey, what do you expect? I just came back from a great vacation, only to be greeted by my adorable puppy (and boyfriend) and yes, the sun is FINALLY shining in this beautiful city! So who cares about all the deadlines and stress, right? right.

That said, I've fallen for these adorable prints by Fréya. Especially these three as, well, two are elephants and one includes our lovely namesake. Oh and what they say is pretty cute too ;)

Every time I see a candid picture of Brigitte Bardot, she always seems to look effortlessly radiant. I'm thinking this may be a new goal of mine.

inspiration...

So I've been thinking about getting into painting again. There are lots of reasons but the main being that it's a means for me to stop stressing thinking about the business-side of design and, truth be told, I miss it like crazy lately!

That said, I just came across Linda Arthurs's blog (via indian summer) and am quite inspired. Her paintings have a lot of energy and you can feel her passion/excitement behind each one of them... anyways, it's got me wanting to run out and buy canvas, like, right NOW but alas, there are sites that need coding this weekend :(

I just stumbled across the adorable blog, little doodles, by kate, a london-based illustrator. I'm so impressed with how she handles fabrics with watercolor! such talent...

How great are these faux book covers, based on the "I Can Read Movies" books (circa 1968)?!? He's done such a great job re-making these to fit that time period - love it.

Yeah yeah, I know I said I was done shopping for the summer but with most pieces priced at $4.99 each, it's pretty hard to pass up :-o

So hurry your little buns to their site as stuff is selling out fast! Or, better yet, if you're near a store, all sale items in stores are an extra 50% off! yikes! stripes!
